Our Story

How Genies Career Hub came to be.

After more than 35 years working across recruitment, HR, and career coaching — inside major organisations, at the highest levels of hiring, and alongside professionals navigating the most pivotal moments of their careers — our founder Orlaigh Smyth kept seeing the same pattern.

Talented people. Capable people. People who deserved more than they were getting. Left behind — not because they lacked ability, but because they lacked the right support at the right moment.

In 2021, Orlaigh launched Career Genies. By 2024, it had grown into Genies Career Hub — a fully integrated platform combining AI-powered tools, expert coaching, smart job matching, professional courses, and a growing content library.

The same mission. A significantly more complete way to deliver it.

2021

Career Genies is launched

Career Genies launches in September 2021 with a mission to make career coaching, CV support, and professional development accessible to everyone.

2024

Genies Career Hub & Platform Beta

Orlaigh and Amit Bajaj co-found Genies Career Hub in January 2024. The team expands and Platform 1.0 enters beta testing in October 2024, laying the foundation for future growth and innovation.

2026

Talent Flow & Guru Launch

Genies 2.0 launches in June 2026, introducing Genies Talent Flow, the recruitment arm of the business, and Guru, the new e-learning platform designed to support career growth and professional development.

She built Genies to change that — to give every professional access to the kind of support that used to be reserved for a privileged few.
